Being a Londoner through and through I was pretty convinced that we had the best shopping streets in the whole of the UK. However I have recently been on trip up north to stay with a friend and I have to say that shopping in Manchester is very very good indeed.
My friend lives only a short drive Nike TN away from the city centre and we parked her Kia Parts Gloucester car very easily, something which rarely happens in London. The city centre shopping is much more compact than London but this really is an advantage. There is no need to hop on and of tubes to get to different parts of the city as everything is within easy reach. The city has an excellent range of high street shops with everything from Primark and Armani all located within ten minutes of each other. Its perfect.
There are also a lot of eclectic stores which are in the Northern Quarter of the city. There is a large building called Afflecks Palace which hosts the weird, wonderful and simply individual clothing. Well worth a visit but it was Nike Tn very busy and there are a lot of stairs to climb!
As we all know, rain in Manchester is legendary. Its grim up north and on one of the days of my stay it really was. However shopping time was not lost as headed to the Trafford Centre. Indoor parking ( amazing idea) was a bonus as the rain was nothing short of torrential. The centre has all high street shops, a fabulous range of eateries and when you have finished with the Tn Nike shopping there is an on-site cinema and bowling alley.
Manchester, I really can see why people love it!
