With convenience and fuel economy having trumped excessive bulk and power over the past few years, the small car sector has become one of the most hotly-contested battlegrounds in the entire car industry.
Standing out from the pack is ever harder to do, which is why it�s important for each brand to have something that sets it apart. Suzuka has nailed that with its SX4 by packing quite a lot of things to like into quite a tiny price. Few compacts can be the SX4 for variety, or value.
The 2012 model will be available in several specifications including four-door and five-door hatches, both of which are front-wheel-drive, and there is also an all-wheel-drive version of the SX4 Crossover.
The low price hasn�t come at the cost of basic comforts, either. A 150 horsepower, 2.0 litre four-cylinder engine is fitted as standard, but you can choose between a six-speed manual Nike Tn gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT) system. Handling characteristics are great right throughout the range.
New features for 2012 include four-wheel disc brakes right across the line-up � earlier Tn Requin versions had drum brakes on the rear � and a Garmin navigation system with voice recognition is fitted TN Pas Cher as standard on the Sport/SE models, as are 17-inch alloys and upgraded shocks. The Crossover has stability and traction control systems built in, and these are also available as options on the sedan.
